SECOND LINE, THE SERIES will explores the history and spiritual significance, activist roots, power and purpose of the Second Line. This series will document the Second Line parade processions which range in size, level of organization and traditions, but in all cases they will include a brass band and jubilant dancing in the street engulfed in the the spontaneous energy of a block party, albeit one that moves a block at a time.

At a time when poverty, gentrification, crime and poor infrastructure continue to plague the residents of New Orleans, this series aims to be an important contribution to the documentation and preservation of the cultural traditions of a city and a people whose struggle for justice are far from over.

The Second Line series will appeal to the countless people who love New Orleans and flock to the most unique American city to experience the beautiful culture it has to offer.
